The Holidays have been rough. To me. To my body. To my workout regimen. To my healthy eating. To everything except for the fact that I had an absolute blast with those that I most cherish. Of course, I had planned to get back into the swing of things the minute that the New Year’s celebrations were over but my body had a whole other plan. I was sick for a whole week. YUCK. Yesterday and the day before were the absolute worst. Stuck in bed all day. With any little movement I was short of breath and extremely fatigued. Kickstart postponed…until…. TODAY!
I woke up this morning feeling much better! Still very congested and sick, but definitely much better! So after having been bed ridden for a week, I was so excited to be healthy enough to get in a workout! Seriously ya’ll, it was getting bad. I started planning workouts in my head while I was lying in bed slowly dying. Here’s what I did today:
2 mile run-18 mins (all uphill)
Abs- 45 mins
2 mile run- 17 mins (all downhill)
I didn’t want to do too much because I was still feeling sluggish, so I took my time with my running. As for only doing abs, I have set up a program in which Monday is Upper Body. Wednesday is Lower Body. And Friday is Abs. I normally try to give two days of rest after working out each part of the body and Abs were the furthest off so it wouldn’t interfere. Overall it was a great workout and I am excited to get back into things!
Today was not a very busy day by any stretch of the imagination but I did do two important things: workout and meal plan. I decided to try out two new recipes this week ( Chicken Avocado Lime Soup and One Pan Mexican Quinoa). Once I have actually cooked them, Ill let you know how they turned out! In case you can’t tell, I LOVE MEXICAN.
Sadly I have to go back to work tomorrow after being away for 5 days, but I leave you all with one thing. It is very important to track progress! Take before and after pictures. Being able to see the changes you are doing to your body are important to keep motivated, plus its just fun to see what you can accomplish when you put your mind to something! So here is my Week 1 photo of being back on track (Sorry for the messy room, remember, I had been sick…):
Have a great work week and I will post again soon. Thanks for reading! 😀
